Buying Advice is position control really a big deal

I really wonder what the true cost of position control is? Is Kubota using this to force the upgrade path rather than a true cost savings measure. This is one of the big reasons that I purchased my JD 2520 over the Kubota.

Me too. I think it is because too many consumers in the SCUT range do not know enuf to demand it. The benefits are not immediately evident to a person moving up from a garden or lawn tractor to a tiny full function tractor. Then when they really need to take advantage of the 3pt lift they discover it is a work around that [when all is said and done] only "saved" them a couple hundred dollars on a $10K+ investment.

I will gladly pay the extra for position control if necessary. The new John Deere replacement for the 2305 has position control and if I was in the market for a new SCUT in a year or so, it would be at the top of my list.

When I bought my New Holland TC-24D I didn't know what position control was and why I needed it. I was also considering a Kubota B7510 at that time. I'm so glad I bought the NH. Sure I could've made the Kubota work, but I don't think I would have been near as happy. Now that I know what it is and how it works, I would have to say I wouldn't buy a tractor w/o position control.

I've had both over the years, and vote for position control (it is a big deal).
Without is like having two hands tied behind your back. Things can get done in a fashion, but not done easily or done well.
And maybe there is something to using it as a marketing tool to obtain an upgrade. Just don't know that.

Decide what you want, but isn't it great to have the TBN available to ask that question and get different opinions to help the buying decision.

I really wanted to buy a Kubota (I loved my old one), but position control and the independent brake pedal location was why I bought a 2520. If I were to do it again I would buy a 2720. 5hp for $1700 is a great deal. My local Kubota dealer never said anything about a 2630? Now that I have used position control for a year I realize just how valuable it really is.

Just priced the 2630 on their site and it seems to be much more expensive than a 2520. I think that the kubota 3 speed hydrostat is a nice feature. I also noticed that their engine seems to run smoother and loader is seems a little heavier.

The 2630 and 3030 are really nice tractors for sure. I have heard they are going to be discontinued in favor of the 3000.

No. The B3030 cab is replaced by a B3000HDSCC (which is basicly the same tractor) and a B3000HSDC which is an economeny cab tractor. The ROPS versions are unchanged... B3030 stays in the line up.

Although... The B2630 has been silently discontinued. Its been a slow mover for a long time.

Thanks for the information, I will never own a B3030, but I really like them. I hate to see the B2630 dropped, but if it is not selling I can sure understand that.

I am soon to be a new tractor owner and have settled on kubota or deere as the tractor i will be getting based on a combination of reputation and local dealer support. I have spent a lot of time (too much) culling through blogs, forums about the various configurations/option etc but still remain uncertain the 3 point hitch control on the kubota b xx20 series tractors. Is the the postion control offered on the xx30 series versus the 1/4 valve control on the xx 30 series a significant difference. Much of the work I plan to do is box blading and rotary cutting. Any input on this would be much appreciated

11 acres, flat pasture with silyy rock free soil
1200 ft gravel driveway
impements rotary cutter, RFM, snowblower, tiller, loader

considering b2620, b2630, b3200 or JD2520. slightly considering Mahindra 2516 (looks best on paper but no local dealer and I am a newby

My 2005 Kubota B7510 HST had a quarter-inching control on the 3pt hitch. I really hated that lashup. Traded that Bota for a larger Mahindra 5525 that has "normal" position control you find on most tractors. You need position control for box blading for sure so get something that works properly.
