Is my monitor dying??

Your monitor is ok, the symptoms sound more like an involuntary, chemically induced lobotomy. Your monitor will be fine...

Yes, your monitor is dying.

If you haven't lately shopped for monitors or TV's, you will be surprised at how inexpensive really large LCD screens are now.

I say "screens" because almost all TV's now will take HDMI inputs and can be computer monitors. So, it is possible that you can get a new TV and use it as a monitor as well. It's an idea to consider along with where you do your computing, where your TV is, etc....

Does everyone remember how heavy the old CRT monitors were? And they started in the 15 inch and under size, soon we all had 17 inchers, then 19, and on and upward in size and weight. Those darn things would give you a hernia just lifting some of them. I don't miss them even a little bit. I don't miss my old 36 inch CRT TV either. I had two young strong men come get it and take it out the door.

Our first "flat screen" TV was a 50" Plasma. It weighs a ton! Our newer LCD and LED TV's are much lighter and way better picture.

We have 27" LCD monitors on our computer and docking stations for laptops. They were all less than $200 ea.
