Is my monitor dying??

When I fired up my browser today (Firefox) my monitor went into what can only be described as looking like it was on fire from the inside out. It was that for about 10 seconds then cleared up and behaved normally. I have been having some problems lately with incorrect displaying of colours. I sometimes will play a bubble shooter game and the yellow and green are indistinguishable as are the purple and blue and the red is an extremely dark red. It's a Syncmaster 955MB and it's a pretty old monitor now.

Wow, a CRT. Time to upgrade. 22" LED monitors at Walmart are a bit over $100 bucks in the US or you can buy used 19" ones on CL very cheaply. Your eyes will thank you.

No wonder he has to wear those coke bottle glasses, staring at some old CRT monitor. That is enough to mess anyones eyes up.

Hot d a m n! You won't believe it! I had to go out for a bit this afternoon and when I came back and went online again my colors came back! :dance1: :dance1: :dance1: Weird, eh?

That was the good news...the bad news is it just flickered again...

I'm thinking my monitor is getting ready to have The Big One!

Solder joints probably getting cracked. Years of heat up cool down cycles, it gets hot in there. I never liked repairing CRT's.

Just 'bite the bullet' and replace it! They are cheap at Tiger Direct, if no Tiger Direct then Future Shop or even Wally World. Your eyes will thank you.
