Is my fuel still good

A friend and I got a semi on a aution about 5 years ago. well time kinda killed it, so I scraped it. But it has about 100 gallons of fuel. It looks yellow and smells some. is it useable? is there anything I can use to make it useable? A friend told me I could use it in my garage heater and not have any issues but sugessted not to use it in my skidsteer. ??? Thanks for the help...

I would drain a little off of the bottom until you are sure that there is no water from condensation add a good fuel conditioner at about twice the recommended rate and maybe mix it 50/50 with new fuel and it should be okay.

HEY....I just read this....are you asking about GASOLINE OR DIESEL FUEL????? PLEASE tell us you are talking about DIESEL FUEL as you should NEVER use GASOLINE in a garage heater, at least I have never known of one that is gasoline fueled.

Just recently I was going to put a 550 tank at my farm and fill with diesel for the Gator, and the tractor. My local Shell dist. told me to only do that if I was going to use the fuel up in a reasonable time, as low sulfer diesel does not store like the older high sulfer diesel fuel was capable of. You may well have older type fuel in the truck. If no water is in it, I can't see any harm in blending it in to newer fuel if------ you are prepared to replace the engine or maybe the whole tractor if something goes wrong!! Just kidding, but life is risky.
