Is my 4210 not running right? HELP

LoadMatch should help, BUT, all it is is an electronic downshift, so if it fixes things, you really aren't unning in high gear, anyway. Read Dutch445's comments carefully, he is very fair on his assessments and has a lot of experience at a dealership.

If top performance in C range is important, now would be the time to work it out with your dealer. I was amazed at what mine did for me to get things right when i took delivery (in my case I had gotten the 420 loader, and wanted the 430...) After talking to them, you might choose to stay where you are, and be content, or move up. But now would be the time to decide...

I have a 4200 hydro, and noticed the same issue pulling an 18 ft trailer loaded with branches on blacktop. When going up an incline, the engine would nearly stall out, and I would stop and shift to B range and go on. After numerous trips over the same route, I noticed that if I let up somewhat on the pedal, the rpm's kept on humming, and the tractor made the same inclines with ease in C. Seems counterintuitive, but letting up on the pedal works while "flooring" it does not. Ken

And that is exactly what loadmatch does for the 10 series...

Well ,Thank You first of all for all the comments. After reading them all, I feel much better. I should have noted in my first post that yes with the loadmatch on it is fine , but all that is doing is holding the hydro in a lower gear-ratio so operating rpm stays adequate. I can do that by backing off the pedal , its just more effecient at it.
It sounds as if it is normal , and I am quite happy with its performance otherwise , I used the loader yesterday in heavy wet soil and it put almost zero strain on the engine. As for having to use "C" range , its certainly not necessary but it just seemed odd that they would match an engine against that gearing if it would not pull it.
All is well , snow in forecast so the blower will get its first use in a few days I hope!!
Thanks for all the replies.

Brad

After about a hundred hours on my 4210EH, it seemed like I just didn't have the power hydraulicly that I had when it was new. The JD Tech came & operated the tractor. He went down my driveway & then came up without the loadmatch on & then again with it on. His decision was that there was no difference & at that point he changed the switch. Voila, hydraulics seemed to come back, happy customer. I write all this mainly to give you an idea as to how to do a self-test on your own, if you see no difference with the load match on or off, you've got a problem for sure. Hope this helps..
