Is it the ECU (computer)

As we used to say at work, "Swap 'til you drop."
"Swap til you drop" is the expensive path to a solution. Often a part is not the solution but the wiring, as others have suggested, is.

The manufacturer of your tractor has a list of those codes. Demand it. Without it, you may as well get out your Ouija board and divine your way to a solution.

The codes will not tell you what part to replace, They give a better idea of what system has failed and why it might be failing. Along with wiring diagrams and knowledge, one can find a solution. That the dealer technicians do not have access to the code definitions is appalling.

So many speak highly of Kubota. Your experience would drive me away from that brand. Techs have to have the knowledge so they can keep customer tractors running. Better that the owner have access to the information as you have a Right to Repair your tractor.

It looks like the shop manual has information on the codes, and it appears to cost $150. That is reasonable for a shop manual- it takes a lot of effort to write one, especially good ones like Kubota usually produces.

The dealer's service dept responses do not give me much confidence in them. But I would not discount an entire manufacturer due to one sub par dealer experience.

The dealer he is most likely going to has a pretty major operation and should have a clue what they are doing. (It's also where I bought my tractor from.)
The good thing is that he's one town over and can ALMOST drive it to them.
