Is it possible to buy just the inner sleeve on a brush hog PTO shaft?

I bought a used brush hog this weekend and ran it some. It does a good job and is bigger than the one I already had. The inner PTO shaft is bent and slightly twisted. The outer shaft half looks fine. If I had to guess I would say they picked it up too high and bent it on the bracing. The shaft isn't very old and the yokes are in good shape. I would like to buy just the inner shaft and use the yokes I have to get it fixed. Everywhere I look they want you to buy and entire new shaft. Is there any place to get just that inside shaft? Agri supply will sell just the shaft...(they call it tubing). Not sure about their shipping policy since they are mainly down here in the south...

Yes, there are sources for drive shaft tubing, both inner and outer. Most of the metric styles are either triangular tubing or lemon shaped. They both come in multiple sizes depending on power transmission requirements. There are equipment dealerships and farm supply stores that stock yokes, crosses, and tubing. There are at least two I know of within an hour's drive. You can also order on line, but you need to understand the nomenclature and know the sizes of the parts you need. I've never gotten that far, I just take what I need in and have them match it up. Tubing usually comes in five or six foot lengths and most places sell the full length, they won't cut it.

A New Holland dealer 30 miles from me has what seems to be all parts on shelf for pto shaft repair.

I would replace both halves of the shaft. If one is new, and one is worn, the new one will wear faster than normal. Could give you trouble.

The New Holland dealer in Sandusky - 14 miles away - didn't have it in stock but ordered it for me. It was $50 for a 3'3'' piece. Thats about $15.40 a foot but still way better than having to buy a complete new shaft with 2 new yokes. They had me bring it in to be sure of the size and they both agreed that other than the inner tube being bent and twisted the rest looked good. I appreciate everyone's responses.

That's not a bad price... Glad it was easy to get....

Now for the hard part!!! Removing the old yoke. Mine did not come off easy, just a lot of pounding and penetrating oil... I didn't have anyway to heat it.

This just had a roll pin in it and wasn't too hard to get off. I did use penetrating oil but it came off easier than I thought it would
