Is it ok to buy used?

Is there anything wrong with buying used and what do u look for- for example-I found a Lorenz 7310
on CL for about $3000- Paint looks all scratched but that does not mean anything I think- also is the double augers better than a single auger unit- thanks

Used is ok. Check for heavy wear, bent or broken parts and any other signs of abuse. I bought my lorenz 630 used a few years ago.

Nothing categorically wrong with buying used, just remember that there are scam artists out there, so study up on what things to look for, model differences, etc. I have had people try to tell me a bunch of BS about the benefits of a certain model, and if I hadn't researched the variious model differences and known what I was looking at, I might've believe the line of bull.

In fact, buying used is a great way to avoid losing money (value) bydepriciation like with gently used cars. The up side with farm and tractor equipment is that it is meant to take and withstand some pretty hard knocks generally speaking. I'm currently looking for a welder and a rear mount mower/bush hog on CL and ebay.
