In my wood processing yard I end up with a mess of bark (birch bark) and lots of bits and pieces from splitting wood. I do pick up the bigger pieces for kindling. However, the sawdust piles and bark all over need to be cleaned up. Back dragging the bucket works just fine mostly, however lots of bark does get left behind.
The ground is all pit run fill that痴 mostly sand with some rocks.
I wondered if using a 3pt rake could easily rake this stuff up into a pile to burn or shove over the bank. Mixing the sawdust into the ground would likely be a good thing to help firm up the fill.
The wood pieces always seem to find their way into the snowblower come winter...
I could see the rake acting like a poor mans Ice scarifier in the winter too perhaps.
Could a fella just lower it so the tines 91F0929A-2186-482A-84C3-971F83483761.jpegB0FC1311-2DC5-41B7-B409-9888F3598F58.jpeg are just tickling the ground and clean up debris like in the picture?
I plan to borrow one later this week to try.

Yes. It will work. Just set it at an angle to create windrows of material.

I would visit the Everything Attachments website and watch the video of Peanut using a EA rake to clean up some land. That will show you everything yuo need to know about rakes, how they work and how to use them.

I doubt a rake will do much on ice.

I use a rake to plow snow on my drive & private road.
Works fine.

And yes, I also use it to clean up the wood yard after splitting.

Rake will help lot better than doing it with hand rake.
Wind row and if pieces still to big for your liking skim top of windrow of with bucket.

You are gonna want your own rake! make sure its bigger than you think you need.

Usually implements are matched to the width of the rear tractor tire footprint. If you angle the blade it comes up short.
My rake is 2 feet wider than the tractor and its perfect for everything. Use it mostly on the road.

Add gauge wheels and it will be easier to control depth for just skimming off the debris.
