I've spent thousands and thousands of hours on tractors. Every single one of them have been without a cab. For some jobs, having a cab can be a pain if you need to get on and off the tractor frequently. But that is about the only downside I can see with one.

We just bought a new tractor, and again we didn't get the cab. It wasn't that we didn't want one, it was that the extra money a cab would cost would prevent us from getting the size tractor and implements we needed.

If you can afford a cab, then there is really no reason not to get one.

This company makes some pretty nice looking cabs, though not cheap and have to be ordered through a dealer. I’ve been looking at the possibility for smaller B Series. I wish the OEM’s would build small B7610 sized AC’d tractors, I’m not sure a 23K B3030 is too practical for a lawn mower.

Your wife must be related to my wife's family because that was basically the answer I got when "we" bought the M5700 last year. Even when I pointed out that they don't drive 15 minutes to the grocery store without A/C but they want me to work 8 hours during the Texas summer without it, it didn't have any effect. Some old ideas and predudices just die hard. They did get a canopy though. I guess that's all they thought I needed. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

So, in answer to your question, if you want to work comfortably during the summer and winter and can afford it, get the cab. You do have to be a little more careful around trees, the radio antennae will be the first thing to get wiped out, but even so, it's worth it. I drove a friend's M6800 with a cab for 6 hours and he almost had to call the cops to prevents me from loading it on the trailer and taking it home.

I got a quote for $17800 for a B3030HSTC with R4 tires.

Still a lot of cash but not as bad a 23k.

The B3030's I saw in the 23-24k range were sold with cab AC loader and (I think) MMM. Realize my area is so over priced I will likely not be able to buy local unless I go in and beat on them or maybe blackmail them with bad PR on TBN /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I’ve not priced B3030’s out of my area as I have the smaller machines.

On a pricing side note:

It’s unfortunate to see Carver has given in to the advertise high (MSRP?) prices and not show their real prices. Their site used to be closer to a reality check than most of the others.
