Hi guys,

Does anyone know if a 2320 with loader and one 3pt attachment like a box blade would work on a 14' flatbed trailer?

Thanks,

Mario

On my 12 feet trailer, I put the loader over the front rack and let the bucket sit on my spare tire. Then the ballast box is touching the rear of the trailer.

I would think so. Attached is a picture showing how I loaded a new JD 4320 with various attachments onto my 16' flatbed.

Do you ever plan on hauling your tractor with a rotary cutter (bush hog) on it? If so, the trailer will be too short. With a loader and a short 3 pt implement you'll fit. Keep your loader on and add a bush hog and you'll be hanging over the end. I can show you what happens to the tail wheel on a bush hog when it hits the highway running 65 mph. I figured that I'd just tie a red rag on the tail wheel and I'd be fine. After going across a dip in the highway on a bridge, the tail wheel hit the ground and tore the heck out of not only the wheel, but the braces that hold the tail wheel on the cutter.

But, if you never plan on using a rear mower or bush hog, you can likely get by with 14'. Maybe you have more foresight than me, but I thought I'd planned properly when I bought that trailer when I obviously didn't.

Its not just a case of fitting them on, but getting the load balanced with appropriate tonque weight for a safe trip.....

great advice guys.

I'm going to buy a 16' car hauler with a flat bed. he has both styles with dove tail and without. I will buy without as I will mainly use it for tractor and utility. if i need to haul a car, i will deal with the loading aspect at that time.

thanks...

Well I was in the right place at the right time and got a great deal on an 18' car hauler this weekend. It's got a 16' bed plus a 2' dovetail on it with 5' stand up ramps attached. They are spring loade so easy to drop and pick up. It also has drops axles so it's really low to the grround.

What a breeze to load and so nice having extra room. It's going to be for my new 2320 with loader and box blade.

Thanks for all the great advice once again...

Hey, great buy for your needs! I don't believe you will have any regrets. I had a similar sized trailer for a 4500 JD (yeah, a bit older :)) and it worked great for me. With the dovetail, I actually ended up just taking the ramps off and used it without ramps. I'd just put the tractor in 4X4 and crawl right up on the trailer. I don't know if that is considered the best practice in the world, but it sure made things a bit easier for me. If your ramps are like the ones I had, and if your tractor is a 4X4, you may try it to see if it works for you. Again, I don't know if it's a bad practice or not, but in doing that for about 5 years I never had an issue and it sure made it easier to load and unload. Good luck with your setup!

wow that looks pretty good and compact. I gotta get a trailer with more capacity (GWVR), so i can tow my tractor around, after I get something strong enough to tow it! - Ever since I traded my 4100, I neglected to upgrade my trailer and well i am just lucky that my dealer is only 10 miles away and does not charge an arm and a leg to pick-up for service. But to help buddies out I would need to drive the tractor over to their location - not gonna happen!
