I was wondering if guys were still having problems with the front drive shafts on these HPX's once the 2" lift was installed. I am wanting taller tires for more ground clearance around the farm, but I didn't know if the lift was more of a hassle just to go with a 27" tire over a 26"? I'm going with the 589 M/S tires. I figure if I'm going to spend the money I'd like to do it right the first time. Any good place to get aftermarket rims for the Gator? Any guidance on this would be great!

I just put a 2" on my new XUV and am running 27's with no problem............Just check for clearance problems and go for it................I can turn my tires with no problems...Allterrainonline.com has some good looking wheels for the Gator's.........They are the ones that I got my lift kit from...................Roger

I have seen their wbsite before. Pretty cool. As for the lift problems, I remember reading on here awhile ago where a couple guys were having problems with their front CV shafts popping out when they were turning or had the suspension reflexed quite a bit. If this was a problem then I was thinking that the extra 1" of tire wasn't worth the hastle. Does the front lift also help allow for the weight of a snowplow and a 27" tire?

The front is lifted by installing spacer washers in the strut carrier.
I had problems with my axle popping out of the differential and removed the lift on my 06 hpx.
Many people have installed lifts with zero problems.
The heavy duty struts that John Deere sells for the front also give it some lift.

So, I noticed there was a BIG difference in price between Deere's lift and ATO's. Is one better than the other?

The lift from ATO is 4 1 inch thick washers.
I believe they are 1"7/8" round. If you want to make them I can get you the exact measurement in the morning..

I'm kind of leaning toward gettings Deere's because I would be getting a heavier strut and spring which would be better for a blade. If I use Deere's and install 27" tires on it, would I rub once I put a 72" V-blade on?
