Invisible fence

If you twist the two wires together, the signals will effectively negate each other and animals can cross the twisted wire with no effect.

I have the radio fence controller in my shop, and have the two wires from it twisted together as they go out to the fence, and then one wire goes right and the other goes left. For the most part, my radio fence wire is zip-tied to the bottom of the fence; this keep my cats (and the dog we had) five to ten feet away from the fence.

Most of the controllers have a knob that lets you increase or decrease the signal strength which will affect the distance that the collar can sense the wire.

Since I'm only doing the back yard and making a back around loop what is the spacing that the wires have to stay apart so they will not cancel each other out? Is that distance adjustable with the controller? Does increasing the signal strength increase the distance needed between wires?

I can't precisely answer this, but consider that the collar will trigger the pet when it's a distance away from the wire, so if you've got a small yard, a perimeter radio fence probably isn't the right thing; I can imagine a city yard with a radio fence around it, the cat or dog would be able to be right in the middle of the yard for a few feet in any direction...

Thanks for confirming, that’s kind of what I was thinking also.
