Hi, My name is Tom Sawyer, I own a 855 John Deere compact tractor which I bought second hand about 10 years ago. It's is a great little tractor and I have several PTO driven implements, lately I've been having this problem where it seems to run out of fuel and stops when there is still over a quarter of a tank left, if I top off the fuel tank the problem goes away. I have changed the filters and the fuel pump but this didn't help, I have also blown out the lines using compressed air, I should mention that a long time ago (8 years or so) I removed the internal filter from the fuel tank and replaced it with an external fuel filter because it was having the same problem. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be wrong.

Might be gunk in the tank itself. Next time it cuts off, drain the tank and clean it as best you can. Suggest you not reuse the fuel.

Hi Roy, I'll give that a try, kinda wish I had joined this forum when the weather was a little better, getting a little on the cool side up here in northern Vermont. Becky is just fine
