Any comments? The J-D is about 2X the Intertec.. I got the J-D Owners Manual off Ebay, but that is pretty limited. Thanks.

KD: I thought about the CD. I pretty much understand 'modern' with an iPad, laptop and a two operational iMacs, but really like to pull out a manual with greasy fingerprints on the important pages.

It is probably a short-term memory thing, but I almost need to look at the page while I am turning a wrench. (I copy/paste/print things I find important in you-all's postings..) Thanks.

I understand 100%, but is is very easy to print the page/section you need and get that greasy rather than a $180 manual. A lot easier to store also.

I have never had any luck with non OEM manuals for vehicles, so now I only buy them from the dealer-get one for my wife's mini-van now as we speak from Toyota.

Like kennyd, I highly recommend the CD tech manuals from JD. You can print out individual pages as you need them, scribble notes and grease them up, and re-print. Much of what is in there you would not need anyway unless you plan to tear down engine/trans/front axle, etc. It's also nice to be able to load them onto several computers. One in the house or one in the shop to look at anytime. I plan to get a used, cheap puter for the shop some day to have the tech and parts manuals on along with maintenance logs and such.

I have old school JD tech manuals bought cheap off eBay. That said, I really like the cheap computer/printer set up in the shop idea! :thumbsup:That way I can print multiple pages and spread them out and not have to flip back and forth thru the manual.

I thought the same about a cd vs a printed manual. Now I love the cd. Print it off and after it is dirty throw it away. It is by far the best way to go. I would also buy a Deere manual. I did myself.

For what it is worth, I feel the JD technical manual for my older 750 is excellent. The thousands of photos (versus sketches) always match what's on the tractor. I don't like spending money unnecessarily, but this has proven to be a good value. The detail is very thorough.
