Don't feel sorry for them......the left coast is getting what they continually vote for: Tax and spend liberals with no regard for privacy when it comes down to feeding their bureaucracy.

I can agree with sully but what starts on the west seems to always spread. Here in TX. they are adopting ca. car rules etc.(smog)

It is amazing to me how Calif. can just keep raping this state with taxes.
My brother in-law lives in Bend Oregon and pays $35 every 2 years for vehicle registration. I pay over $500 for my pick-up. He buys a tractor and automatically gets 7.75% nocked off the delivered price because he doesn't pay sales tax. His income taxes are lower than mine. His property taxes are lower than mine. I went there on vacation this year and didn't find Oregon wanting for anything. When are the liberal idiots here in California going to get a clue. If they stopped wasting our money they wouldn't have to dream up new ways of robbing us.

It's stuff like this that scares you. They will find anyway to take your money. It leaves me almost speechless. Just one more reason that Bush and the Republicans should fight the good fight for our rights.

Just like the death tax. It galls me to think that if my wife and I die that the government feels they can take almost 50% of my family money and spend it on welfare programs when my kids should be entitled to all of it. Is this what all our good veterans fought and died for?

The ENTIRE purpose of posting this article is the simple fact that what happens in one state, tends to adopted by others soon there after. I've always been of the belief that interstate sales were not taxed in the state of residence, but Calif. adopted (on autos) a six month clause many years ago, if it is brought into Calif within six months of purchase, then taxes are applied, after six months, no tax. Use tax? First I've heard of it.
Using warrenty records? Totally unethical! Particularly unethical on the part of the Dealers and Manufacturers!
Boycott? Seems right to me, at least of Case, and Deere!

Bob...good on ya for reminding me that I'd better tally up my 'use taxable' assets and get my payment ready to send in come Jan. 2nd . Seems to me a feller never really owns anything even though he's paid for it in full. Our various GOVERNMENTS
just let us spend earned, taxed money on things we have to have then rent our assets back to us at high rates EVERY YEAR! If they'd just call it "B.S.Gov.Rental Charges" at least we could deduct it from our Fed./State/County/Borrough/Parish/Municipality/District/Consolidated Area/Local/Precinct/Assessment- Mandated/Apportioned/Legislated/Fry-Your-[censored]-If-You-Don't-Pay TAXES !!!! Do I hear 'Boston Tea Party?' 'Hope George and the Party can do sumpthin....HEY! Wasn't the American Revolution fomenting during a taxation w/o representation...say 'bout 34% ? Sumpthin' got those boys riled up back then.
