That same hose can be purchased from JD as that's an A&I part number.

I believe that aftermarket company is just using the Deere part number. I've seen that done a lot.

The Deere part is about $25. I'm a little skeptical of some aftermarket parts unless I get a recommendation from others. Some after market are as good, the exact same part or better than OEM. Others are just plain crap and not worth putting on.

I am installing the solenoid on the 24 volt starter now. On the new solenoid all 4 holes are slotted. On the old solenoid - 2 holes were slotted and the front 2 holes were round. I set the solenoid the same as it would have been with the original round holes.

Is there anything I should watch for installing the solenoid? Anything I should lube?

The starter was just clicking like the solenoid wasn't working. I didn't know how the screw driver starter jumping trick worked on a 24 volt starter, so I didn't try that.

I am certainly hoping this isn't a starter issue - as then I will be switching everything to a 12 volt system.

I noticed there is a pretty good hydraulic leak right above the starter. Could that be from running 2500 PSI instead of - I think it was 2300 PSI?

Could the hydraulic leak be an issue with the starter?

While I am changing the front hydraulic pump I will try to address the leak.

Any tips and tricks to pulling the front axle? I have a little cart I was thinking of making something to hold up the back to roll it out

Notice A&I logo encircled in blue in Allparts parts description. Hyd leak above starter is more than likely come from the SCV valve which could have been caused from too high stand-by pressure. Starter not operating correctly could be caused by several things including the oil leak.

Does the A&I label indicate that it is an original John Deere part?

Got the new Solenoid on and the starter is working fine. Going back out to install the relay you recommended.

I have a 40 amp relay. Is that big enough?

The only things I haven't figured out is where to source the power to run the starter and ground.

I am going to check to see if yellow/exciter wire to the block is 12 volt. If so, that will give me ground

Can I source 12 volts to the relay from the brown wire that is at the solenoid or should I go to the left or right battery + post?

With the key in the start position I was going to test for continuity to both positive posts. Or to the negative posts for 12 volts to determine which battery I need to source from. Even though my batteries are in a box, my left battery and right batteries are still in the correct configuration

A&I is a parts distributor owned by John Deere. A-part number indicates A&I as the source. The yellow starter exciter wire will have 12 volts but isn't a ground connection

Have the exciter part figured out. Just have to figure out where to hook the power source wire and the ground wire to.

Power source will be the brown wire and ground will be the starter
