I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a ck20 with loader and backhoe, one question I have is Insurance, I will most likely be using to do side jobs so I will need to be covered for that, I'm just curious what people are payng for Insurance.

Around here the insurance for a TLB used for "commercial" usage is too expensive to afford unless you are "working" it.
I guess the insurance company figures if you charge they'll charge too LOL

I got a quote of $2572 for part time work with a New Holland 1920 with an 8 1/2 foot backhoe. This was only liability with 500,000/1million coverage. I am in a battle with myself over this. I have been doing side jobs (career firefighter) for the past 5 years with 90% being backhoe work. The only 2 problems I have had was hitting an underground sprinkler control wire and an unmarked 2" PVC pipe from a washing machine to a drywell. I always call Dig Safe and try to be extremely careful. Bill C

Wow is right.
I looked into it a few years ago.
My Ins didn't really have a "part-time" policy avail.
The only one was a policy meant for the full time backhoe operator.

If you think backhoe insurance is high try spraying pesticides, or doing tree work!
