My Son in law has a business using a Finn Hydroseeder and the "safe hands" company for his insurance with several years of coverage. Orginal policy was coverage of full replacement. some where in the renewal the coverage was shifted to a "maybe if" type coverage.
May last year the 1 ton flat bed Dodge and Hydro seeder was stolen. the truck was covered and the 50 k seeder . well seemed there was confusion if covered. agent said go to home depot and rent one for up to 25 bucks a day. didn't underdtand answer it burned that much fuel in a day . Full coverage replacement cost now was deductable less years of age and unit only not tools and material needed to do work.
Over a year later still not settled. just think what this loss does to a business. Read and re read the policy and be sure to read the renewal policy surprises are not in your favor.

I would have asked the same questions. An informed decision comes from many different perspectives, not just the insurance agents point of view. Similar business owners with similar practices can give informed opinion based upon experience. And while the agent will do their best to taylor the coverage to the client, the agent may not know the fine details about the business. Nor will the business owner know what details are significant or not from a coverage standpoint, without first hand experience. Good to have everyones knowledge here.
And, don't mind us Yankees Brandi. Were a bit cranky most times, but good spirited when the spirits are flowing!
