several years ago, i took out a separate insurance policy on my tractor, because my insurance rep said it was not covered when i was hauling it around: BUT, as long as it was on my place, it was covered by my homeowners policy: well i don't plan on hauling the tractor anymore, so i was going to let the coverage lapse: i "just happened" to go to the insurance dealers office yesterday, about a new car, an i mentioned i was going to let the coverage lapse: an he said tractors, 4 wheelers etc etc etc, are no longer covered on the homeowners policies at all: for theft or anything: so now i have got to get a list of serial numbers etc an get a policy that will cover all the toys: you might want to check an see if your insurance company has made this change without telling you...as Nationwide did in my case.
