how do i rewire a new ign. sw.trying to bypass an ecam switch

It will be difficult to advise, as there are many different kinds of ign switches. Some have 2 to 6 terminals, and they are connected for a specific task. For instance , on my Kohler, there is a wire to ground the magneto, and some just disconnects the 12 v .

Can you post a picture of the back of the switch, and indicate any lettering?

I don't understand your question. I just put a new switch on my '80's vintage Snapper tractor - the 6-terminal switch simply unplugged from it's automotive-type connector, and I plugged in a new one. The new switch w/ key cost about $15.

Whatever an ecam switch is, he is wanting to bypass it, and wire in a new switch. He could get a simple ign switch or one that has 5 or 6 terminals. and maybe a terminal that would ground the magneto if the motor has one.

I have no idea what a ecam switch is either. Hey J.J. The weather here about 20 miles from your old home town of Clinton is about 90 degrees. are you enjoying your cooler weather there? lol Pete

It's still hot here, running about 88 to 92. Looking forward to some cooler weather. This summers heat has whipped up on me. Up to 4 years ago, I was landscaping about 8 hrs a bay, toting backpack bowers, etc. I don't know how I did it, but I just kept on working, until my feet starting hurting.
