I have everything ready to go to install the extender tubes, including loosening the two banjo
fittings beneath the seat. It looks like I'm going to get a flood of hydraulic fluid as soon as I loosen
them. Two questions: Are the tranny and hydraulic systems one and the same? And if so, does it make sense to drain the fluid down a ways to prevent losing any when attaching the extender tubes?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The transmission and hydraulic system are the same on a 790. My power beyond was add by the dealer before delivery so I don't know about fluid loss. Draining the system to install the power beyond should not hurt anything and while the system is drained you can clean the screen before refilling.
