I had removed the backhoe on my RK24 last week so I could try out my road blade and rotary cutter. Those are not 60 models of indeterminate make and models but they both worked out great. I壇 still like to get a 48 rotary cutter as I have lots of cutting I could do in the wood lot with a narrower setup.

Yesterday I decided to reinstall the backhoe. Removing the backhoe was pretty easy. The toughest part was getting the backhoe situated such that the top pins were easy to remove. Getting the backhoe back in was a bit more difficult, but not that hard. Some tips to make things go easier.

1. Try to back the tractor in as square to the backhoe as you can get. Be sure your lower links are stowed properly. They should be attached to the cross bar of the tow bar.

2. Reconnect the hoses once you are close enough.

3. Be sure that you tuck the hoses into the backhoe frame assembly and that they are not hanging loose under the backhoe. I had two hoses in that position and had to remove the backhoe and practically start over. Make certain that your hoses are connected 100%. I had one hose come apart twice.

4. Once you get the lower hooks of the backhoe onto the pins of of the tractor, you are almost good. After that it is just a matter of jockeying the backhoe around to get the upper pins lined up and installed.

5. Stow your top link and lifting rods after you are done.

On the aggravation scale with ten being why did I ever buy this thing? I would give this a 5.

Sounds about right. Only thing I would add to make things easier is to put a cinder block or similar under the hoe frame for it to rest on when detached. This also lets to move the controls around before disconnecting the lines to relieve the pressure in the lines. Makes them a lot easier to reconnect. I haven't really had to "jockey around" anything to get the top pins in or out of mine. I just touch the bucket to the ground and use the boom control to push the bucket against the ground (without stabilizers touching). This should be all that's needed to release any pressure on the top pins.

My backhoe is "quick attach" also....maybe 15 minutes.
I never take it off.
I just use my other tractor if I need a 3pt. hitch!

I’ll try that next time.

I also used a 6x6 to set the BH on. When reinstalling, I couldn’t get it to drop fully on the pins. Took me a few minutes to remember the block of wood. Major head slap.

 I did the same thing the first time I had the block under it!

This was the first time for me to take it off. I wanted to make sure everything worked ok with the 3 point hitch and to see how it would handle the attachments. Then, if I decided that I could do with just the RK, then I could sell the Super Dexta. I’m hesitant to do that as it is a heck of a tractor and can go anywhere on my property that I would be willing drive a tractor.

I’m sure I will shave my time to a reasonable amount with practice.

For mine the most important thing is to take it off on level ground (both BH and tractor level). If you do that the rest is easy.

That definitely helps, but it's not near as important as with the FEL. The backhoe can move in any direction to realign, unlike the FEL.

To that I would say......Do NOT sell your Super Dexta!
