Tractor
Massey Ferguson / New Holland 3010/ Ford 3550 Backhoe
I couldn't be happy with my new/used 3010 tractor as it is. I had a cab on my IH 706 and loved having the protection from rain, cold and wind. I found a used factory cab off of a 3930 in Anderson Ohio and had it shipped to St Louis.
The tractor had a shuttle shift ( I think ) and I have a standard transmission. I have a few issues to work out getting everything hooked up. It will have a cable clutch linkage instead of regular peddle linkage. I messaged the seller this morning about sending me the remaining linkages to the peddles. I have the clutch peddle and cable.

With all that glass I'm a little worried about lifting points. on the front I thought of going from the front mounts and through the grab handles to keep the strap in place. The rear lifting I may have to remove the fender. I could go from the rear mount and up across the rear glass but am worried about putting pressure on that lower window. that glass is tough but pressure in the wrong place and it pops.
I will have to modify the front mounts from 3930 tractor to 3010 tractor. I do have the 3930 mounts to work with.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. I want to prepare as much as possible, so the tractor isn't shut down for more than a couple of days. Its winter and snow shows up whenever it wants to.
Below are some photos to look at and give suggestions. I put a cab on my IH 706 but was a direct swap. I put it on in two hours with and snow was falling heavy.

These photos won't help much without photos of the tractor. I need to get my photo file organized. I also bought the hood off of the 3930 because the exaust hole has to come out farther forward, away from the windshield.
I may need photos from someone with a 3010-cab tractor. there aren't many online.
I always make more work for myself, its an illness. Should have bought a cab tractor. Shoulda, woulda coulda

In the second photo you can see what Fedex freight did to my right rear fender. They hire anybody that's breathing and put them on a forklift. Now I will spend endless hours on the phone trying to be compensated.
Merry Christmas

I hope you can get the cab to work. I’ve never seen that style cab on a 3930, but nevertheless, those two tractors are not similar.
The 3930 is basically a Ford designed 3 cylinder model. The 3010 is a Fiat model made to fit in that hp range as an economical offering.

They are completely different tractors. Now that I have it home and I have been measuring things it looks like it will work without cutting the cab to fit.
I'm going to make a 2x2 wood frame to use as a tool to lay out where the front mounts will fall. It will require front mount modification. Other than front mounts the clutch will be cable control instead of hard linkage. that looks like an easy changeover.
The brakes look like I will just need to shorten linkage rods. the way the e-brake is tied in with the peddle linkage may require some work. I hate the e-brake handle location on my 3010, ( under the seat.)
The brake handle and cable with the 3930 cab I bought are in a better location. I will try to make that change
Clutch, brake and e-brake are first to work out. The pto handle and pto clutch handle look easy. steering wheel location looks like it's dead on.
I will get the cab on and tractor functional again before tackling the cab wiring.
I see only small floor cab modifications needed. There are removable floor panels, like for my 3010 manual shift levers the 3930-cab had servo shift. I think these cabs were somewhat made for several models.

I have done a lot of studying online photos and videos before I purchased the cab.
Here a couple short videos of 3930's with cabs. My 3910 was a utility tractor, I couldn't find any online with a cab.
There isn't any information online on doing a job like this. I will make it work as it should. All safety considered important.
I hate botch jobs.
Here below are those short videos of 3930's with the same or very similar cabs.
I will document progress as I go.
I forget. I'm getting old but this isn't my first. Shoulda. Bought a cab tractor, but, but, but.

Yeah pretty sumilar lines on those tractors as the 3010S was basically styled after the 10/30 series. Looks like you have an interesting project on your hands. Looking forward to your progress

I got the seat and floor mats removed yesterday. the paint is blistering in places and it has some surface rust. ill clean and treat the rust and paint the floor.
Its solid, this is a concern when buying any sheet metal parts. A common rusting seam is where the floor pans are welded to the inside fender well. My cab looks good.mm
There are five removable metal panels down the center of the floor. Ill get some photos when I get all the dirt flushed out.
Those floor panels would make it easy to use the same cab for different model tractors or for different options.
The cold weather has slowed this project. There is a lot of layout and linkage work that I can do.
I bought a new seat. I don't like the molded tractor seats. I purchased a universal fork truck/tractor seat. It will bolt right to the factory seat suspension.
Snow on the way and my cab is n the tailer.
