Bought new tool box from Tractor Supply 3 months ago and finally installed it today. Was able to just remove 2 rubber stops and used 2 existing 5/16's threaded holes in fender and drilled 2 more at far end of box. Used neoprene washers between toolbox and fender to isolate the box from fender. The wimpy box from Mahindra just couldn't carry all I needed.

You call that a tool box? My lunch pail is bigger than that, lol. Very nice job! I couldn't force myself to drill holes in my fenders.

Nice job on the tool box. I wish my fenders had enough room for something like that. I know the one that came on my tractor was downright pathetic. I found a good sized plastic one at the local orange hardware store for about $5. Welded up a bracket and bolted it in place of my original one. I ended up buying 3 because they're so cheap and if it cracks down the road, who cares... it was 5 bucks.

If I had a toolbox that big on the tractor, I'd never have to walk back to my pick-up truck for anything! :) Fortunately, I am never more than a couple hundred yards from my truck at any given time... and, more often than not, I can get the Beast a lot closer!

But if I had a large horizontal flat spot like that, I'd be awfully tempted...

I put the small stuff in the factory box and the larger tools
in the fender mounted one. I actually bought one twice as large as the TSC box but after playing with it found the essential tools fit in the smaller TSC box and the TSC box is very well built with very good piano hinge and a moisture seal around lid.

Hi awill99,

Mind if I ask for a list of the tools you keep in the toolbox??;)

Thanks in advance

My box is mounted in the same place and way as yours. I was given a truck with the bed full of junk iron. While cleaning out the "good" stuff there was a box just a tad bit bigger than yours. A little torch red paint and she was mounted tight. I did however mount mine just oppisite with the opening to the outside.

Everything but what I need! Actually it's at dealer getting 50 hour service and getting the slow rear hydralic fall and the engine lope fixed and a strange problem with FEL joystick. When I got it to dealer the joystick worked but moved about 5 to 6 times normal distance like it had pop'ed out of socket.

Primary use so far has been for lynch and hitch pins storage. There is a pipe wrench and a 14 inch adj., Phillips and reg. screw drivers, heavy pair of pliers, heavy wire cutters (need set heavy enough to cut wire and barb wire that you pick up with bush hog.) Shear bolts for bush hog, Rotary tiller, Post hole diggers, etc, 4 lb hammer, pocket knife, various size nylon tie staps, electrical tape, duct tape, 25 ft ruler, pen and paper in a ziplock, small LED flashlight in a ziplock, cheap 2.99 VOM in ziplock. These are contained in original Mahindra toolbox and new one I added.
Would have liked to have found a slightly larger box for top fender but trying to find a substantial metal tool box with full metal piano hinge is hard. I found this one at Tractor Supply on closeout. I don't think the plastic one's will hold up long term to vibration and shock.

And a can of silicon spray.

Sounds like the only thing you're missing is a fencing tool... Indespensible in a tractor toolbox. It's a hammer, wire cutters, pliers, wire twister, staple puller, do-it-all-in-one-tool-tool.
