Just got done with my 50 hour service only to find the owners manual said nothing about the screen by the p/u for the hydraulic pump.
Unfortunately, I read about it on here after doing the service.

This tractor has 72 hours on it, did any of you find lots of junk on the screen at the 50 hour service?

Just wondering if it is worth getting rid of the brand new oil to clean the screen. Not sure I could save it well enough into a clean container

I did clean mine and found a small amount of stuff on it, there have been people who have said they found quite a bit? sorry I can't be more help. If it was clogging, you would have erratic behavior of your hydraulic system, like when a filter is clogged, if it was me I would most likely do it next time, or if I start having problems.

Cleaned mine as well. Not much stuff in it either. Its a good benchmark to have.

Well, worried about it too much so I drained out the new fluid, cleaned the screen and put it all back in. The ramps worked well and allowed me to put the 5 gallon pails under and had no issues.
The screen was barely dirty but was worth doing considering the ease of draining and refilling.
I did learn the grease fittings on this tractor are M8x1.25 not M8x1.0. Looked all over for some and finally ended up ordering some from Mcmaster carr.
Later found them at Ace hardware but they only had the 90 degree bends.
These are all brass and I snapped a couple off trying to get my grease coupler off of them. Even tried loosening up the coupler..Brass is good so they cannot strip into the threads but they are weak fittings.
I'm also changing some on the brake pedals and the back of the tractor to 90's to make them less of a hassle to grease.
I'm using the Universal Oil from Sams and all seems fine. I was told any JD303 spec'd oil is okay to use. Could not find any TF500 oil....?
