The INNER air filter in my 3 year old B7610 is supposed to be changed periodically according to the manual. I have been reluctant to do so because it does not look at all dirty and these filters are so expensive. I change / clean the OUTER air filter regularly as per the maintenance schedule and always visually inspect the inner filter to make sure it does not appear to be dirty or clogged. It always has looked perfectly clean. I am curious as to what others think about this. How often do you actually replace the inner air filter ?? Do you clean the inner filter and if so, how.

As long as the outer filter is doing it's job the inner should never really get dirty. I've never replaced mine... not sure I'll ever need to. I'm also not a big fan of cleaning filters... too big of a chance of getting dust on the clean side of the filter. I say replace the outer when it's dirty and check the inner while your there.

That's good advise.
