Inline fuse on Vaccum help..

We have a Kenmore upright vacuum and the little 'powermet jr' rotating head attachment used for small jobs..

This powerhead has a 99 degree inline fuse that (based on research) goes out at times - and ours stopped working..

what would happen if i just rewired it bypassing this inline fuse? How important is this fuse?

I am hoping that Radio Shack will have this $2 part - Sears only sells the entire motor assembly.

If you by pass a fuse and something gets hot. It's probably going to burn up what ever that fuse protects
