Snowblower Inland Steel SA84 cable

I have a Inland steel SA 84 snowblower and was wondering if anyone could tell me how the cable goes on to turn the chute?

Im currently doing the same thing on mine. I have a inland SA-73. What cable system does yours have. I just ordered one today from farm king and ill be mounting it tommorow nite and i can post some pictures of it then. Post some pics of yours and maybe some opne else can help too. Just your standard crank handle and cable. But with the cable gone, I am not sure where it connects, or how many wraps it should have on the crank. I am not sure what you mean about updating my signature?

Well your signature just tells people what tractor you have and what attachments and were abouts you are. I wasnt sure if your snow blower had a hydralic chute or a manual. Mine has a manual but im switching it to hydralic tommorow. Ill go take a picture and count the wraps for you on mine. There should be a little tab on the chute were the cable will go through to tie/attach the cable too. If i remember right, i think its 1/8" cable that is used.

That would be great to see some pictures on this. How much did it cost to switch to hydraulic?

Well so far im in to the change over for 85 bucks, there is a local shop here that build cylinders and i got a 11" stroke x 1.5" bore that has the wrong ends, but i can deal with that for 25 bucks. The braket cost me 59 bucks from the dealer ship and ill see that today. It will probly take me and hour of 2 to install it all and set it up but i got nothin much to really get done. Im only converting mine to hydralic cause my chute is really hard to turn once it builds up with some snow. But im heading out to my shop here in half and hour so ill have some pictures for you before noonish.

Well here is some pictures for ya. If the chute is pointing straight out the back of the blower there was 4 wraps on each side of the hole in the center where the cable threads through. Here is some pics for ya. The shaft in the picture is the one that connects to your manula crank for the chute.

O and i forgot to mention that the cable is 1/8th inch and its about 6' long or 72" is what i got for a rough estimate. The one picture is the tab that is on the side of the chute were the cable threads through.

Great, that helps a lot. It makes sense when you see it, but it sure didn't with nothing to go by. Did you get the hydraulic turn working? I called in my area, and a farm king kit will cost me $350 plus shiping. I can have somethin fabricated for much less than that

No never got the kit yet, it had to come in today to the dealer and they said noon but as of 5pm it still wasnt in so if anything ill have it tommorow. Ill get you the part number cause they tried to tell me it was that much too but all you need is the chute turning thing. They might be trying to sell you a cylinder and everything that you need to install it. If it was gonna cost me that i would have build one that one of the others on the forums here have build before. Ill get you the part number tommorow once i have the part here.
