- I just bought a property that came with a 1971 Allis-Chalmers 170 FEL.
- I already own a FEL, and so my plan is the to sell the 170.
- I don't have all the details on the 170 yet, as we won't take possession of the property for another 2 weeks (I'll update the post when I can).
- I don't know the number of hours on it.
- The previous owner claims he bought the tractor two years ago and put $6k into it, and he claims it runs great. I don't know what he spent the money on, but he claims he kept receipts and will provide them on the possession date. All I know is that he didn't put it into a visual restoration. It is in good shape, without dents, minimal rust, etc., but definitely not a show tractor.
- The tractor was a throw-in as part of a counter-offer, so I didn't pay much attention when we were buying the property, which is the reason for my lack of details.
- I know this is somewhat pre-mature given the details I am missing, but what sort of value am I looking at if I sell it?
- Am I best to just sell it through the usual local channels (e.g., facebook/kijiji/craigslist/etc), or is there any collector value to it which would require selling it in a different channel? (1970 doesn't strike me as collectors territory...). Auctions?
Thanks for the help.
edit: the only picture I have at this point....
