Ingersoll 4018 with 60 inch deck

Hello all I just received a Ingersoll 4018 in a trade for a car. I have a few questions. first it has a Onan 18 hp engine and the charging system is not working Ideas? wiring schematics? how to check it out? the hour meter shows 340 hrs and seems to work does any one know what this mower is worth?

The charging system is simple to test. There three leads connected to the regulator. Two of these (the outer wires) are from the stator under the flywheel. They should show AC voltage over 20, up to maybe 30something when running at 3/4 throttle. The center is DC to the switch/battery. Should be 13 or so. If you have AC, no DC it is a defective regulator. But, be sure that the regulator case is well grounded before this test.

What is it worth? With no pics and being unsure exactly what came with your tractor, and what the electrical problem you have is, my wild guess is around $1000, or more. If you have the rear hydraulic valve, sleeve hitch, wheel weights, or any other attachments, the value goes up. If the 340 indicated hours is true, that would add quite a bit to the value as well.
