information on kubota tractor

I just bought a kubota tractor that has model 285 written on the cover. It is 4-wheel drive and has only 1200 hours on it. It is a gray market tractor that was brought back to the states. It looks perfect for the 6500.00 I paid for it with boom pole and heavy duty 5 foot disk. My question is that I need a trailer and must know the weight of the tractor. I also want to put a front end loader and need to know the Horse Power. The guy told me it was 56 HP but I don't know for sure. If anyone has knowledge about this tractor I would appreciate anything you could share.

If it is an L285DT it has 28.5 gross hp with about 24 hp available at the pto. Weight is around 2400 lb without loader. There should be a plate on the left side of the engine or transmission that confirms the model number.

I looked around on the tractor and did find a tag that said L2602DT. Could this be it. The 285 was written with a magic marker. He also has engine DT1405 written by a magic marker. It is 4 cyl. I guess this is a long way from 56hp. Any more help will be appreciated. Thanks, Mike.

Concerning the front end loader, some of the folks that post here are using a brand called Koyker, might be worth looking into.

I almost forgot, you might want to check out the gray market board which is located further down on the discussions page.
