Kubota/ B7500/with 2000 lb winch
I'm interested in buying a small tractor but I'm not sure what I want. My question is does anyone own a b7500 series with a front loader? If so how do you like it and how does it perform. It's a toss up between the 7500 and the 7800. I know the 7800 is bigger and more power but I really like the 7500 for the size.

Donny,
I have had a B7500 for about a year now. No matter how big of a tractor you buy, there will be times when you wish you had "more power". Every time I get that urge, I realize how many times I have had mine in tight quarters where a larger tractor simply wouldn't go. Also, I have enough power to easily handle 99% of the jobs I do. Overall, my tractor has had more than enough power to do what I've asked of it. Primarily I have used mine for landscaping work. The toughest work I have done with it has been stump removal. Right now I am helping a neighbor construct 2 ponds with a connecting river. I have moved a lot of dirt and chipped about 30 yards of mulch with my pto chipper. I have used it to move 20 ton of rock for a rock wall and set over 5000 bricks with it. All of this is easy work for the B7500. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with it. Maybe you could share what type of work you plan to do and somebody will be able to advise you on how it works for those specific tasks. Hope this helps.

Greg,
Well put. I too went through this when I was considering either the B21 or L35. I'm glad I got the B21 as I have only had one job that I couldn't do. Where as if I had the L35 alot of small jobs I couldn't even think about doing. I use my B21 for my own property and a firewood operation as well as commercial work such as digging ponds, french drains etc.

I've got a B7300, which is the same physical size as the B7500, less HP. I often moan and groan about how I wish it was bigger, but the truth is that it does everything I need it to do about 95% of the time. If you think you might need a bigger tractor, then now is the time to make that decision.

A couple things to remember is that the larger machines will not turn as quickly, won't fit under trees / buildings, and they do cost more.

You definately want a front loader, no matter what size you choose. Other attachments will depend on what you want to use it for.

Last summer I started looking at a BX22 and when it was over ended up with a B2910/loader/backhoe...7800 is the same size, as you know.

This summer I decided that I did not like the RFM I bought for the B2910 and ended up buying a bx2200 with MMM...and trading my RFM in and getting a new woods BB60 in return for it.

Now I love the B2910...but I guess what I'm leading to is perhaps a B7500 with a MMM would be a good compromise...

I can't imagine not having the B2910...and can't imagine not having the bx2200/mmm either...

But I can imagine having a b7500 too! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Never happen though...love my wife too much...I know if it came down to a third new tractor...it would it or her! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think as others have and will continue saying...the B7500 is a pretty good "not too small" tractor.

Donny,

To answer your question, you will find a lot of happy 7500 and 7800 owners here. I have a 7500 and love it. The little thing has more power and capability than I thought it would.

I recently smoothed out an eroded section of drainage ditch, cut a drainage ditch and am currently smoothing out a large section of erosion on a bank near a pond. The FEL and box blade really can cut and move the dirt. I also use it to cut 4 acres, it cuts well too.

I was looking at the 7500, 2710 and 7800 models. One day I couldn't decide between the 3 and was talking to the salesman who said: "You can't go wrong with any of them, they will all do what you want."

It depends on what you have and what you are going to do with the tractor. Give us a little info on what you want to do with your tractor and how much land you have and the helpful people here will be able to help you a little more.

I own a B2100 with LA301 FEL which is very similar to the 7500. I bought it because it was the largest CUT which would fit under my screen porch which I had to go by to get to the back of my property. I have not regretted the small size since it has allowed me to do things which would have been impossible with a larger tractor. The FEL along with box blade, brush hog, and back blade have been a boon to do so many things for me and my neighbors. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten the B2400 which is the same size but more hp. The only time I wish I had a bigger tractor is when I'm plowing snow with the back blade and the increased weight and width would make the job easier.
