i have an ih utility300 or 350 aprox 1957, ran fine until recently. it starts and runs perfect at first as it warms up it requires more and more choke to keep running.eventually it dies completely.when it cools down it will run again.carb is clean, tank is clean, etc. i thought perhaps a crack had developed in the intake that only opened when warm.not sure how to confirm this.the previous owner had it converted to 12 volt. the problem seems to be getting worse.if i spray water in the intake after it stalls it will start and run faster than if I let it cool on its own.the serial plate is unreadible.previous owner said it was a 57 300 series however appartently they renamed them 350s. anyone else had this problem.this is my first tractor
:confused2:

Do you have a nice clean fuel filter??? How about your air filter?? A partially plugged fuel filter would cause those symptoms.

Did you pull, and clean the elbow going into the carb., where the fuel line attaches?? There is a fine mesh screen attached to that El that can plug causing those symptoms.

Sounds like it is partially plugged and may trickle in enough to let you get it warmed up. Letting it set to cool off, allows the bowl to refill.

A plugged, or non working vent in a fuel cap can cause it too, along with the screen above the sediment bowl.

Check for a good flow to the carb. from tank. If that is a good stream, check that El.
