Indoor shooting range excitment

Makes sense if this footage actually came from Brazil. If you want to get to the good part, it starts around 1 minute 30 second mark...Love the chick in flip flops by the way.

I've done a couple of ventilation jobs for indoor gun ranges, it can get very expensive. I know we can tend to have over regulation in our country when it comes to safety, but it seems the really good stuff comes from outside the country anymore LOL (except for rednecks blowing up tannerite).

Slow motion it looks like the fire started under the elevated floor, likely years worth of dust accumulated from falling through the cracks.

As a sidebar I have almost stopped shooting at public ranges, it has become a common occurrence to look down the line and see a barrel pointed in your direction while some tacticool idiot is trying to impress their friends on how to clear weapon. A while back someone renting a pistol actually dropped it while entering the range and they still let them shoot.

I agree. I noticed also there wasn't any kick from their loads.

I used to shoot competitively on indoor ranges when I was age 14-17. I was always amazed that on every range, if you are standing at a station and turn around with your back to the backstop, and look up at the ceiling, how many hundreds if not thousands of tears you see in the ceiling where lead hit the backstop then ricocheted back up over the heads of the shooters in the opposite direction.

Later in life, I was also amazed at the amount of lead contamination that adjacent rooms in a building with an indoor shooting range had. Many stories of buildings having to be decontaminated once people learned how toxic lead paint was, then someone thought "What about that shooting range in the back room of the YMCA?" The lead dust was everywhere on window sills, upper window molding, tops of doors, door frames, curtains, blinds, bookshelves, top of refrigerators, pop machines.... pretty much everywhere.

I few years past, I worked as an RSO at an indoor range.
Fella decides to try out his tracer rounds; backstop material was rubber "mulch";
Tracer rounds WILL set rubber afire. But, the good news, a fire extinguisher will put it out.

Even on my property where it's "laid back" shooting, 2 simple commands, "GOING HOT!" and "CLEAR!". They don't even do simple verbal commands at most ranges I use to go to.
