Anyone one know of a sealant that is put into a tire that stay there forever to seal a leak if one occurs? There are to many draw backs to having foam filled tires.

I have used Gempler's seal for several years. They have two grades, and I use the more expensive one. The only time it has failed to seal is when I got a puncture and shortly thereafter parked the tractor with the puncture up. Apparently the liquid needs to pass over the hole quite a few times to work. In my case, I inflalted the tire and let it sit overnight with the puncture down. The next day it was sealed perfectly. If the nail, etc. stays in the tire, when you remove it you should either run for a while or park with the nail hole down.

I use Green Slime haven't had any problems or leaks with it, knock on wood.

Be cautious as one brand I used ended up being water based and simply froze in clumps in the tire.
Sorry, but do not recall which brand it was.

With hawthorn trees around here, I've used green slime with great success.

I used green slime very successfully until I needed to plow some snow. All four tires went flat shortly after I took the tractor out of heated garage. The slime froze inside the tires and all the thorns started to come out after the tire rubber hardened in freeze. I used whole box of plugs cut in three sections to plug all the holes. The tires looked like a hedgehog when I was done. Does anybody know about freeze resistant sealer?

Now the 64K question what sealant is compatable with Rimgard ballast?

Deerlope, I don't think there would be any tire sealants that will work with liquid tire ballast. It would be too diluted and the tire sealant depends on air pressure to keep it in the tire punture.

The only way you could get liquid ballast and tire puncture together would be to fill your tires with a non water based tire sealant. Which would be cost prohibitive!
