Just to give you an update - the quotes Im getting in January for a 2605 with 4WD and FEL are only about $850 less than December - so far the 4WD upgrade offer for January doesnt seem to have changed the pricing but Im going to shop it around some more. It only applies to certain Serial No. models and Im guessing not all dealers will have these.

For whatever its worth....

I spent many years going round and round in fields on tractors that didnt have locking diffs. Only time I got stuck is when I would get brave around a water hole. On solid dry ground it didnt make a whit of difference.

But lemme tell ya when I did get it stuck I'd be wishing for front wheel assist or diff locks or something. Nothing is more frustrating than looking at your tractor with 3 wheels on dry dirt and one rear wheel in a puddle and your stuck.
