The woman who heads the tree commission in my fair city is a tree loving fanatic.
It's next to impossible to get approval to remove a dangerous tree in this town thanks to her.
Her motto most be kill anything or anybody but the tree.

I did not even know there was such a thing. I don't live in any city limits and never have, but if I did, I would not have known. If I had wanted a tree in my yard down, I would have done it and never asked. In all honesty, I would probably still do it even if they said no... or done something like get it in writing that they told me I could not remove a dangerous tree... then sit there in the evenings and shoot the bad part of the limb with a .22 rifle until it turned loose and crashed through my house. Then contact a lawyer and send the city the bill just for spite after showing them the letter where I couldn't remove it. I'd be sure to throw in a hefty pain and suffering fee just because they tried to tell me what I couldn't do with my own property.
