Ford 8N looking to upgrade!
Will a 1401D 4x4 handle a 5' blade in snow and gravel? Also, will it handle a 4 ' tiller (NARDI is the brand)? I question whether the 1401D is big enough for either of these implements. Anyone with experience please respond.

bluerockcracker,

I have a 1401D with a four foot tiller and it handles it just fine.
IMO, I don't think the tractor has enough weight or HP to handle a five foot blade.

I would think it would handle a 5' grader blade ok, but not a 5' boxblade. The grader blade should still cover your tracks, even at an angle.

I own a 1401(2 wheel drive) with turf tires. I have the following equipment:
5 ft. rear discharge finish mower
4ft. brush cutter
4 ft. tiller
24 inch pond scoop
12 inch 1 bottom plow (have to use rear wheel chains)
4 ft. box blade
pto post hold digger
pto fertilizer spreader (500 lb. capacity)
25 gal. 3 pt sprayer
I have no trouble using this equipment.
