implement mfg where you live

I was surprised to find that there are 3 implement manufacturers in the general are where I live: Rollins, TRI & Taylor/Pittsburgh. Im sure there must be more I dont know about but its kind of nice to buy locally w/ parts and support in short range. Another plus is that the first 2 in the list will make one offs and mods to stock designs as per your requirements. Oh, and the price is right compared to the big name brands. Im sure by midwest std this is no great shakes but this is a first for me and Im enjoying it!!

Snowblower manufacturers all over the place within a day's round trip. None that like to deal direct.

The equiment manufacuter that makes a lot of rural king and TSC impliments is located out of Litchfeild IL. (were i have to go to get to one of the above retail outlets anyway)

i contacted them directly when i was looking at buying my tiller hopeing to shave a few 100 off the price.

but no, said they werent setup to handle will call.

Rollins, Kodiak, and Athens Plow are all close by. None will deal direct, AFAIK, but if you buy from a local dealer, they will often run a truck over and pick up. No freight charges to the dealer can save you some money.

snowridge: Holy smoke I didnt realize you were in this area! I knew about Athens Plow but forgot to put it in the list...been by there several times. Didnt know about Kodiak though...thanx!! I go thru Charleston often on Rt11.

Tr3 Rake Company makes a pretty popular horse arena rake. Supposed to be good for ball diamonds, too. Located about 10 miles East of South Bend, Indiana.

Norwood industries is just a few miles from me. They don't make farm equipment but they make portable sawmills, and they will sell them to anyone who shows up with something to haul it home with.

What's the name of the plant just outside Sweetwater, on 11E going towards Athens? I was back home a couple years ago and came close to seeing if I could strap a rear scoop on top of my car to bring back to Missery. The wife objected.

I looked it up and I think it's A&B Eagle Line. I'll have to ask my baby brother, who lives in Sweetwater. It's just outside Sweetwater, south on 11E and on the north side of the highway.

Is the Athens company mentioned earlier actually in Athens? I remember passing what looked like a display of old implements in Athens on my way to Etowah.

Yes, Athens plow is in Athens I think. Thats right, its on the road to Etowah. I saw it when I was going to get my TN driver license...the station is way out on the road to Etowah BTW I found out that Rhino owns Athens Plow.
