The problem for me is after uploading most posters leave it "Thumbnail" size, so it has to be clicked to see if I want to look at it.

So, you would rather that users post their pix so that they are already expanded to screen width? I wonder what most folks want to see. I like to see the pix posted as thumbnails, since I do not open and view all of them.

As for editing first, then uploading, that is what I do, reducing photo width to 1000 pixels. I can do it pretty fast with an old version of Adobe Photoshop Elements (cheap and useful!). I use Elements 7, and you can buy Elements 10 for as little as $20. Current version is 15 (or 2020?), but even my old version does way more than I will ever use.

If I take photos with my phone or Nikon, they are always WAY too big, and upload times with my internet service would be quite long.

At least some of you have missed the point. I resize all my photos to 1400 px on the long side at 96% quality using Irfanview. This keeps the file size below a MB. Usually 300 to 600 kb.

The request is to be able to use the "Quick Reply" window at the bottom of the thread to enter a photo, click on the View attachment 633766 at top left, then be able to double click the image and select full size. I believe that option makes it fit the viewers screen no matter their resolution. Some forums have it defaulted so the image already shows and you don't even have to click on the View attachment 633766 at top left.

Here you have to go to the advanced screen to do any of that and it is time wasted. It also makes you have to use the back button several times to get back to where you were in the thread listings.
I understand your request. But it only requires a few more clicks total, to change the displayed picture size if you start by double clicking the reply function. That puts you in the advanced mode. When through with the post, click "Submit Reply" and you are back it the thread.

I don't understand your need for the back button on this site. On my computer I open pictures in a new tab. I never have to use the back button on TBN.

No, "Medium" is is large enough to be able to know if you want to open in a new tab to see more detail.

Here is a link that shows 4 pictures posted as "Medium" in one post: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...-skidsteer-tilts-post5611363.html#post5611363

Here is the difference from "Thumbnail" to "Medium":

Would it kill you to just go along for once? Just because you don't mind the extra clicks doesn't mean it can't be made easier for those that do.

I agree with simplification.

Xfaxman has taught me many things about the use of this forum. I appreciate everything he adds and never consider him fighting "going along".

I agree, Xfaxman is an asset to TBN. Exploring the limits and capabilities of the software should be encouraged.
