Well, I finished cutting my grass and leaves for the season the other day. I removed my mower deck and cleaned the top and bottom of the mower deck. I did the 50 hour pm on my Toro WH 520xi, and installed the snow blade. Here's some pics of my driveway, and the snow removal team.

js5020,

Yes, that is small non packing driveway stone. I think the size is called "304". I packed the snow down in my drive after we receive the first 6" of snow with my Chevy 4x4. Then use the plow and snow blower with whatever snow falls on top of the hardpacked surface. Packing the first 6" of snow keeps the stones from being pushed and thrown into my yard.

BX23 with FEL
CC GT2554 with 42'' front blade
Bolens 850 with 42'' front blade.

Let me know when you get a PTO powered snowblower... THEN you're ready. :D

The little ole Bolens handled the snow around here for 38 years quite well all on its own .
It now has a CC GT2554 and a BX23 for helpers so I believe it can get by quite well from here on in , after all it stood alone for 38 years.

Morning Arthurb.
Looks like you got everything under control for any winter storm...does help to beat cabin fever tho.

Hey Bob,
That thing looks like gobs of fun !!!
Well when the snow comes off Lake Michigan we can get buried and then my little toy is a load of fun to play with. Its a major curiosity around here. But I long ago stopped caring what my neighbors think! When I'm not driving around the farm fields in the Snow Trac, I do have a Buhler Farm King PTO snowblower to clear the driveway.

BTW, the Snow Trac is just as happy driving on sand, gravel, shallow swampy ground, etc. It doesn't much like the lawn; oh wait, it is my wife who doesn't like it when I drive it on the lawn

That thing looks like a Land Rover on steroids with tracks. Tell us more about it. Are there a lot of them? Dusty

Dusty, do a Google search for "Aktiv Snow Trac ST4" and you will find a couple web sites that talk about them. Most Snow Tracs are former military or utility company units and now are in private hands. They were used by British Commando under NATO authority to patrol the border along the USSR during the cold war and our Air Force used them in Alaska. I've documented them in Antarctic research and on the Olympic ski slopes grooming trails in Japan for the Soporro Olympics in 1972. There is quite a large following of dedicated owners who think the people who put those silly stickers on the back of their Jeeps that read "Its a Jeep thing you wouldn't understand" just don't understand the true meaning of traction or offroading :D

All the comforts of home, with a 4 speed transmission, a steering wheel and the seats are even covered with Hawaiian fabric to keep you warm! Here is an interior photo from BEFORE I fixed up the inside of it.

Mine is considered an agricultural vehicle so I can drive it on the roadways with an SMV sticker on the back. It comfortably seats 5 and can seat 7 if there isn't much gear to haul. They will climb slopes that would scare a goat and have only about 1/2# of ground pressure PSI because much of the structure is aluminum.
