It runs he said. He said battery is weak but we could pull it off and it would run. Need to sort out the charging issue, probably new battery and maybe carb clean and I bet it runs fine. Do a tune up too.

I see the crank hole in the front, does he still have the crank. When my wife's grandpa's Farmall A did not start I could always crank start it.

I've got my Grandfathers 52Ford put up. Hid in one of my Uncles Barns. Very few knows about or what it actually is for that matter. I don't even bring it up. It's a Funk-6.
I had no clue as to what a Funk-6 was so I googled it. At first I thought you were referring to a car and didn't get anything on that. Then tried a tractor - very interesting! I didn't know they did that. Very impressive and you've got a real gem there. For those of you, like me, a Funk-6 is an 8N tractor that had it's 4 cylinder engine replaced with an in-line 6. There are also 8 cylinder versions as well.

It was there when he got it 20 years ago. I'm sure he has it. I know it was with the tractor casue I remember as a little boy playing with it and my grandad telling me not to play with it cause it could kick back and brake my hand or arm.

It will be running and going right this time next year. It's going to be the "prop" for next year's family pictures! And if for what ever reason I can't drive it to the shoot location it will get trailered there and pushed off!! I have wanted this tractor for more than a decade....I should of never let it get away. I was a teenager at that point young teenager and didn't appreciate things. Grandad was still alive at that point so it didn't mean as much I guess.

I also let his truck get away. I think it was an early 70s Ford 100. I was asked if I wanted it...again I was young and not wrenching then like I can now. I passed on the chance to buy it when I got out of college as well. I though that it was too much. But now looking back it wasn't that much. That's why this tractor means so much. Now I have back one of his prized possessions, from a man who was very simple and immaterialistic and didn't have much in this world, but what he had he owned and worked hard for. He was a farmer for years after and before work. He worked 40 years on the floor of the cotton mill back when textile was king in this area.

He worked hard, they saved. My grandmother never worked for a paycheck she tended the farm and home. They put my daddy through college and he became a lawyer. First I'm the family to ever go to college. Dad didn't grow up with indoor plumbing (my dad is only 65). I am now the second to graduate college in the family.

That's it to the "T". Wow!! great photo's. Never seen those before but it been awhile since I googled anything on it. It's in WV.. The way my grandfather was able to purchase it he told me Yrs. ago the Previous owner rolled it on it's side and a tree stopped it from going over. Scared the owner to death so he sold it. I think he worked for the Mines also which my Grandfather was a Foreman. Mom told me and confirmed it he would take a bird in and check for Co2. Etc.. That's how he was able to afford it and the Prev. owner was in Management also I believe. My father Retired from Ford which he said my grand father called him and asked about it. Which he told him the details and told him to buy it. We lived in Ohio then when the Yanmar roll over happened. Heard all about that for Yrs.. Those Pics. are Fantastic Thanks!!! I'll admit it that I'm a Fordaphile.........;)

Those Farmall Cubs are great little tractors, a little dangerous on hills. It looks to be about a 1950 model. If you were nearby I have a sickle bar mower and woods belly mower that I would let you have cheap.
