Has anyone replaced the wood bottom in this model? Carriage bolts in original but no burrs can be felt underneath.

I had one of these I used for spreading horse manure. We called it "Mr. Hankey"...

Yes sir. They run about $1000-1500 in good shape these days. I’m glad my brother gave me this one

Have this same spreader. The metal side panels are rusted out along the bottom where they meet the angle iron.

My brother ripped all mine off and put new steel there. I wash it after every use and out it back under the barn

Bought mine used, has had a rough life. I would like to replace the steel with 0.125 aluminum sheet.
We keep it clean and store it empty in the barn. Prior owner took the covers off because he said it kept throwing the chain. Turns out the chain was on the wrong side of the idler roller. Fixed that and have had no trouble since.
