IH 574 PTO won't engage

I have a IH 574 (1977) and all of a sudden the pto will not engage. Everything else works, PS, brakes,3pt. hydraulics. I've heard that sometimes changing the hydraulic filter and fluid may do the trick, did that today and still no PTO. I have a I&T shop manual for it, but some of this looks complicated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you ever get an answer on the IH 574 PTO not engaging? Were you able to get it fixed, and if so, what had to be done?

Just had the same problem happen with my IN 574.
