IH 574 gas winter oil

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been discussed but what would be the best oil for my IH 574 gas for heavy use in the winter temps 10-32 degrees? The manual says 10w but all I can find is non detergent. Is there an acceptable alternative weight such as 15W-40 or what is a good brand of 10W?

SAE 10W Low Ash can be found at Case IH dealers.
Might be able to order SAE 10W at other places such as ChevronTexaco.

If you do use a 10W-30 or a 15W-40. make sure it's heavy-duty and has both an "S" rating and a "C" rating and check the oil reguarly.

I have the Industrial version of the 574 mine is Int 2500 i use only Pennzoil 10w30 Winter and Summer works great.
