IH 240 Hydraulics

Anyone know if the hydraulics on a IH 240 work off the engine or the transmission? I know the PTO works off the transmission, but I wasn't sure if the hydraulics do as with the Ford 2N, 8N, and 9N models. This is the deciding factor in whether or not I purchase this tractor.

I looked at the hydraulics diagrams on Messicks website and it appears to be a gear driven pump off the engine.

Thanks! That is what I was hoping for. I've used an 8N for several years and every time you press the clutch the PTO stops and the hydraulics drop. Drives me crazy!

They are gear drive off the timing gears on the front of the engine. These are not like driving a 8N.
