If there are aliens, what will they look like?

They do not sense it. An accelerometer only respond to acceleration, not constant velocity. The earth revolving around the sun is not changing velocity. To be clear, any orbit by nature has an angular acceleration, but the angular domain is not the domain of an accelerometer, it is the domain of a gyro.
Any orbit is an angular acceleration. Double speak is not a solution.

How can one visualize the difference between "angular acceleration and gravitational acceleration? Recall those "artists conceptions" of torroidal space stations rotating slowly to produce the feel of gravity? Not any easy concept to hide.

The calibration of 9.8 m/sec ^2 accounts for the centripetal, and "is corrected for the straight line momentum ".

And what do these devices produce as output when thown upwards to the sky by a nine year old? Only to fall back again and bounce as a rubber ball down the sidewalk? Ignoring the the pull of the moon and stars?

Sorry. Forgot to turn on my IFF.:)

I stated "no offense"...just making an observation...
I have a copy of the steel manual (which needs updating on a regular basis because of technology and other factors effecting steel properties)...it was a reference book not a textbook in the classes I took becoming a CE...
But that brings up a point...( unrelated example) your comments remind me of all the Internet jokers that swear up and down they have college degrees but don't know the difference between their, they're, there...etc...
There is no way anyone can get through a 4 year degree program without being able to accept certain knowledge based on theoretical physics etc...
There are more and more engineers waking up to the truth so don't know why you can't believe it.
There's physics and there is theoretical physics.
So answer me this this physics question; how can a vacuum system (space) exist next to a pressure system (atmosphere) without a barrier?

Trade, no, not easy. The accelerometer works properly on all axes so that it clearly only responds to acceleration. No matter what orientation you pick the axis normal to gravity responds the same way, reading 9.8 m/sec^2 while stationary. You did not read or understand what I wrote, or do not understand how these devices work, and must not have ever seriously used one, or what I am saying would be clear to you. Bulletproof.

We had a fairly civil debate but it is time for me to bow out. No one is going to change their mind. Thanks, although we disagree, the debate is more challenging than I thought.
Well my brother, a retired aircraft mechanic, believes that planes have software that automatically compensate for the "curve" of the earth so that pilots don't have to constantly dip the plane to follow the curve. When I asked him if he's seen this software he shrugged his shoulders. I also ask him if a pilot puts the plane in manual mode and flies the plane himself why the pilot doesn't have to constant dip the plane to follow the "curve". No answer.
Don Petit, astro-not, said that they would go to the moon in a nano second but lost the technology and it would be painful to build it back. :ROFLMAO:
Even though NAZA is supposedly sending rovers to Mars and has this magical ability to control these rovers from 172 million miles away.

There is absolutely no proof for this statement. With all the relative motion going on in the globe earth universe (sun, moon, earth, planets, solar system) there would be no way to figure out what's moving and how fast.

Unless aliens know how to warp space/time - it's likely our visitors will be some form of robotic probe. Same applies to us. There is currently no know way for humans to survive the time needed to reach even the closest star systems. Much less simply surviving in space.

How are you so sure there's a physical barrier? (go ahead, answer with a question about something else vs ever any answer that makes sense)

Easy if using the same radio waves as your cel phone. You know that fake thing like the internet that we use to communicate without wired connections. There is a time delay for the distance, but it's still bi-directional communication.
