Any orbit is an angular acceleration. Double speak is not a solution. They do not sense it. An accelerometer only respond to acceleration, not constant velocity. The earth revolving around the sun is not changing velocity. To be clear, any orbit by nature has an angular acceleration, but the angular domain is not the domain of an accelerometer, it is the domain of a gyro.
How can one visualize the difference between "angular acceleration and gravitational acceleration? Recall those "artists conceptions" of torroidal space stations rotating slowly to produce the feel of gravity? Not any easy concept to hide.
The calibration of 9.8 m/sec ^2 accounts for the centripetal, and "is corrected for the straight line momentum ".
