There's a conspiracy deal with Kubrick and NASA because he did a film around the time of the Apollo programs. He asked to watch some stuff at NASA so he could get a better idea of how to make his film more realistic, and, he bought some used camera lenses that were developed for NASA and modified them to fit his cameras. Simple as that.

So that's good enough for people to conclude that 6 plus B = potato.

With my BMSE degree in Mechanical Engineering, professional license, and 40 years of engineering experience, I am always amazed at how some people ever got their engineering degree. I do remember being told once that being able to make it through engineering school and having basic common sense are not always compatible. I have seen that in practice, and have seen it again while following this thread.

I have worked for, and with engineers all of my career. I am not an engineer, although I have a BS in Biology and Chemistry, and finished my career as an Environmental attorney. I once had the title as Environmental Engineer.

It has been my observation that most engineers know how to work with things that can be measured, but many have little or no people skills and don't want to deal with feelings and emotions. On the other hand, I will say that two of the most intelligent, well rounded and capable and admirable men I worked with and for, were engineers with degrees from MIT. I will follow that up with saying that two of the four individuals that I despised most in life were engineers; the other two just said they were engineers.

Having said that, for the most part, the engineers I worked with were normal, capable human beings. Some didn't like having to take my advice, but we got a lot done.

Yes, I do...
This universe is too big to think life, in some form...and, IMHO, intelligent life, could not have evolved.
Although I think FTL speed can be attained, that doesn't mean extraterrestrial has visited us...a possibility, certainly, but not a fact.
So, the answer in this case is faith, not fact...since I cannot prove it...
But, life on this small green planet most certainly gives credence to life on other planets
