Well, Where do I start.
Ok, Can any of you tell me, where do I find the manufactures ID tag on a Kubota B8200 4x4. I'd like to find the serial # so that I can determine it's age.
Here's the story to date.
I just recently picked up a new client that just purchased a piece of property (more to follow). My business is Property Management and my job ( at least temporarily ) is to act as the caretaker (more to follow). With the purchase of this property came this B8200. It was with mutual decision, that it would be best to get rid of the tractor (more to follow).
So what kind of an education can you guys give me on a B8200 ?
I know it has no power steering, it has no ROPS.

Nope....can't keep it.....it has to come over here to Maine!

The serial number could ( I stress could ) be on the frame...try the left side.

If you call a dealer with that number he might be able to fill you in.

If you are going to drive that puppy you ought to see about getting a ROPS for it.

How can I tell which version of the B8200 this one is. I see that there are many versions, there is the 8200DT, 8200DT-2, 8200E , a HSE a HSD, a HST a HSTRED. It is a gear drive, so I know it isn't a hydrostatic version.

Maybe Tractortips.com could help you out Mark.

Wondering if the tractor has the turf tires on it?

Good Morning Thomas, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The tractor has R1's on it. It needs some TLC. The seat is wrecked, a few dings and dents, a good general cleaning would make a world of differance. It starts and runs, but I bet it hasn't been run or used in approx. a year. It has a Landpride finish mower on it that needs a little maintenance. But the tractor as only 895 hours on it. I will be bringing it home either Sat. or Sun. I don't necessarily want it for anything, but for the price of $ oooo.oo How can I refuse.

They normally were on the right or left side of the clutch housing. Yours would be a DT. New ones are on the left.

How could you not refuse /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif and I'm sure in know time you'll have it purrring like a kitten..tlc..and somebody will be asking how much.

Stay on hard surfaces until it dries up or freezes. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thomas,
The tractor doesn't really run to bad from the sounds of it.
When I first tried to start it about a week ago, it took forever. I finally ran the battery down and had to jump start it with my truck. I let it run for a short while, raised the mower, backed it up about 12' and shut it down.
At the time I was not sure who owned the tractor. All I wanted to do as back it up further into the barn to shield it from the weather and of course, security. Out of sight, is out of mind.
I haven't even really seen the tractor in full daylight, as in outside. My first real view of it ouside will be when I drive it onto the trailer. I will take photos.
I know very little about the Kubota line. The bulk of my knowledge has come from the TBN.
I am hoping that those of you who have Kubota knowledge will educate me a little about them. Things like.
I know art said that mine would be a DT. What does the DT, designate? How does the DT differ from the DT-2 or the E. art, or anybody. Can you fill me in ?

DT =4x4 w/gear trans
E =4x2 w/gear trans
HSD=4x4 w/Hyd. trans
HSE=4x2 w/Hyd. trans
DT-2= newer version of the DT
